Land Rover DC 100 concept car | Dubai Motor Show 2011

Land Rover have confirmed that when the lights come on this Dubai Motor Show 2011, we will have more than a glance at their latest concept vehicle, the DC100. For over 50 years, (maybe 60 but who’s counting) Land Rover has drawn tracks through desert, forest and every other terrain and it is their Defender that has been favorite-d by explorers, ecologists, aid workers and even the Red Cresent society for this purpose. First revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011, it is here to wow crowds of Dubai and the folks who have come from the world over. There has seldom been a bigger dare than replacing an icon but LR have taken up the challenge with zeal and has produced the DC100, their 21st century interpretation of their spirit of adventure. Gerry McGovern, Director of Design says that the concept is hardly production ready, but the 4 year journey begins now. The 100' wheelbase, 8 speed transmission, intelligent start/stop and roof equipped with solar panels to power on-board systems are some specs from this multi-highlight vehicle.

كشفت شركة لاند روفر عن طراز دي سي 100 الإختباري الذي يعتبر بمثابة طراز أولي يعطي فكرة عن ما سيكون عليه الجيل القادم من مركبتها الشهيرة ديفندر. سيتم عرض دي سي 100 على منصات لاند روفر خلال نسخة 2011 من معرض فرانكفورت الدولي للسيارات الذي سيفتح أبوابه قريبا. وعن هذا الطراز الإختباري الجديد تحدث جيري مكجوفرن رئيس فريق التصميم في لاند روفر قائلا 'أن عملية أستبدال طراز ديفندر الاسطوري هي أحدى اكبر التحديات في عالم تصميم السيارات فما نتحدث عنه هنا هي واحدة من المركبات التي ألهمت مخيلات العديد من الناس حول العالم لذا فأن دي سي 100 ليست النسخة الجاهزة للأنتاج التجاري من الجيل القدم لديفندر بل بداية لعملية تطوير ستمتد لاربعة سنوات بهدف الوصول الى ما يمكن حقا أعتباره طراز القرن الحادي والعشرين من ديفندر. وفي سياق متصل اعلنت لاندروفر أن إنتاج الجيل المقبل من ديفندر سيبدأ خلال العام 2015.
